Classic Guacamole

Very simple, very fresh, and very pleasing to the eyes. Don’t omit the lemon juice, for it gives the guac a really nice lemony zing.

Classic Guacamole Recipe

For storage, keep in an air-tight container and eat within 2 days. This is because the avocado will go brown after too long and you'll want to eat it while it is still fresh.

    1. First you'll need to cut open, peel and pit the avocado. The way I like to do it is cut the avocado into two halves, lengthwise. One half will still have the pit still in it, the other half will be pitless. Cut the pitless half in half. Do the same with the pitted half and remove the pit. Peel off the skin or each slice. Repeat for the second avocado.
    2. Place all of your avocado pieces into a medium-sized bowl. Mash them up with a spoon until creamy.
    3. Add the lemon juice, and stir well. Add the garlic and onion powders, as well as the cilantro if using.
    4. Stir in the tomatoes and diced onion.
    5. Add salt and pepper to taste and serve with hot tortilla chips and salsa!
